Auto-renewing subscriptions can renew onto new terms
An auto-renewing subscription can now renew onto a different product, a special price or a discount code. Publishers can change prices without the reader cancelling and buying again.
Until now, an auto-renewing subscription always renewed on the terms it already had. Moving readers from an introductory price to the full price meant changing each contract by hand before its renewal date.
Renewal terms set what the next renewal will be: a different product or purchase option (monthly to yearly, for example), a special price per item with or without VAT, or a discount code applied at renewal. The terms can apply to the next renewal only or to every renewal, and the portal shows a preview of the new price before they are saved. If the terms no longer apply on renewal day, the subscription renews on its current terms.
For now, Sesamy's team sets renewal terms for you, so ask your Sesamy contact. In the portal you can see the terms already set on a contract by hovering over its Auto-renew badge.
